Seismic Retrofit and Upgrades
House of Engineers’ team of qualified, licensed structural engineers provide a wide range of structural engineering design services to our clients. Our Seismic Retrofit and Upgrade services structural coupled with seismic risk transactional due diligence services are a complement to our structural engineering in house services.
Our structural engineering team will assist in the following seismic upgrades:
Seismic retrofit of structures that were built prior to 1994 Northridge earthquake required by cities and counties in the LA area.
Performing tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 seismic upgrade per ASCE 41 code. This building code requires performance base design of structural elements depending on the construction type of the given structure.
Soft story and non-ductile concrete buildings seismic retrofit: Any structure that is built before January 1978 with two or more stories wood frame construction, will have to meet city ordinance by seismically retrofitting. This will reduce the risk of injury or loss of like that may result from the effects of earthquakes on these types of structures.
